Singapore Singapore is one large, exciting, tidy and interesting city… but also very expensive. We find it an excellent destination to travel with kids, not just because of superb metro system but also because the whole infrastructure is adapted to the people with disability, which means also for us – people with strollers. We can even say its the best we ever saw anywhere in the world. It is possible to move from point A to point B without using your arm muscles or your back to move the stroller. Just bare in mind that when you are entering a public bus you have to fold it as it is mandatory. The city itself has a lot of content for the children, the zoo and the aquarium are one of the best of their kind in the world. Also there is fun island of Sentosa. We decided to visit Singapore because of its proximity to Thailand and also because its on the top of the lists of best cities in the world. It was definitely worth visiting when we were so close. We bought one way tickets directly from airasia website. Flight was from Phuket and it lasted around an […]
The next trip is due – Thailand and its time to write couple of lines about it. We decided to go to Thailand while Relya was 6 months old since we have already been there in 2014. We wanted to repeat it as already know it, we knew all the location (except several new ones) and we were very confident. For us Thailand left an impression of a very safe and easy country to travel to. Its easy to go from one place to another, find food, accommodation, smiles, beauty, attractions… There wasn’t any general problem in sight, well, only a long flight. We bought plane tickets (BGD – BKK – BGD via Abu Dhabi) three months before for dates 5. february – 10. march – 34 days in total. Price for all three of us was 982e for buying directly at Etihad website. Ticket for infants (up to 2 years old) are not exactly free, price depends from company to company. We payed 62 eur, while our tickets for the adults costed 460e. It was possible to pay less – 420eur but for a longer waiting time between the flights which we didn’t wanted. For us it was important […]
Soon after our baby Relja was born, when we had our assurances that he is healthy, strong and developing well, we decided to take our first trip with him once he turns three months and to make it somewhere “local” meaning in South Europe. Our decision felt on Cyprus and for the end of October. We picked that location for two reasons: 1) it has the longest season in the Med 2) We found extremely low prices on Wizzair website. End of October was the choice because what we researched online is that there are no rules regarding when is the baby “too small” for the plane. Some companies don’t have regulations some require it to be at least two weeks old. But there is another problem: newborns have very fragile immunity and in airplanes the a/c has the same air circulating from all parts of the plane into single system meaning that everyone is breathing what other people exhale, therefore a lot of babies get various sorts of infections form the flight itself. We know of a baby that was on a plane when she was three weeks old and she got a conjunctivitis. Advise is that baby should […]
We won’t write much about previous travels as we want this blog to be focused on traveling with a kid, but also because other destinations are pretty much mainstream. One trip that was specific to be was the last years trip to Philippines. One that makes this one different is that I was second month pregnant with my baby boy Relja and that trip took around 30 days. I didn’t planed to take that trip pregnant but as you can’t plan things in life we made our baby from strike one, and we bought those ticked for a very good price months before that. We found out I was pregnant one months before the trip and didn’t exactly know should we cancel it or no. So first thing first was to visit my gynecologist (that labored be later in July) to confirm the pregnancy and to let me know if its safe to travel that far. He confirmed and said that its ok and with normal sense of percussion there is no reason why not to go. Still I had double thoughts and I was very nervous, especially because our ininerary was very complicated. I had to take […]
We are newbie mom and dad with a 1 and 1/2 month old baby That’s how much he has at the moment of writing of this post. We came to idea to write our own blog because we are traveling couple entering their 30s. We visited over 50 different countries so far and as you can imagine we don’t want to change our lifestyle. After we got our baby a lot of people told us something like “aahh, baby, great, now you guys will stick to one place for couple of years”. Our reaction was “uhhhh, yeah…. right…”. Yes, some changes need to be made but we don’t really want to stop traveling. There are some sources on-line with a lot of useful information but probably not a lot. That’s why we decided to keep track of how our baby grows and all the places we will see with him. If you are following our baby traveling blog there are couple of things to know about us First thing one should know about us is that we are from Serbia. It’s one of poorest countries in the western world. Despite of that we managed to travel some of the countries like Thailand, Japan, Philippines, […]
